So, this last two years, I have been working on an Album...my debut album. In more ways than I care to mention, I guess this has really been a life long thing...a long time coming...especially if you consider I wrote my first song when I was 15. Now I am 30...and this is the year that I shall be releasing
' O N E '.
'O N E' is essentially an auto biographical concept album. I have always found it difficult to make up things to sing about and so I have always looked inward to myself and my own experiences. It is my hope that the themes and narratives explored within our going to be completely translatable and relatable. I'm pretty sure we all feel similarly about a vast array of things, but the biggest concern I have tried to tackle Is the danger of 'self'. 'O N E' refers to one and all, it's in everything I've ever done, or will do. Its all about returning themes and contexts, an endless knot of drama and resolve.
This week we are having a look at which songs are going to be the first 'singles' as I now understand that this is something that must happen if I am to have a successful Album launch. Ultimately, I am inclined to showcase one of the more commercially accessible tracks on the album called 'Where My Heart Should Be' which I have always thought of as 'Slasher Horror' sort of vibe. The song is always open for interpretation and so far I have received some excellent break downs from a few sources on what the song could be about. I can't wait to get it out there and for everyone to hear it.
This road has been long and not without its own unique frustrations. So much of releasing work is based entirely on other people and really, its a trust game. I have to say I have an excellent team and the support I have had these past two years has been astronomical. It's really all thanks to my producer Carl for finding me and letting me be myself.
So, Coming very soon...is a torrent of music that I have been working on and I really mean soon....
